Fall Class Project

"The Strategist"  6.5x12"

Hi all,

I am still in the midst of the summer show season but I did want to get this image out there to inspire some of you to sign up for one of my Fall workshops this year. You can go to my website and see the many places and dates that are available - http://www.twodogstudio.com/page3/page3.html.

My studio workshop in November has 5 spots still available so if you want to get into that one get a hold of me as soon as you can. Also, the October classes at Ornamental Arts in Marysville will be a different project than the one shown above.

So, if you have been mulling over the idea of learning colored pencil then this is your opportunity!

My next show will be Art in the Pearl in Portland, OR. It is Labor Day weekend and it is a really awesome show so if you are looking for something to do that holiday weekend consider a trip to that part of the world.

Be well!

Eileen

The Silence is Over!

"Three For Tea'

Hi all!

I am back and bringing new work with me! The festival season has officially begun and I am gearing up creating new work for the Edmonds Art Festival on June 14-16th. I will be posting more frequently in the months to come with new work and Two Dog "sightings" containing information on where you can find me (and Scout, of course) so stay tuned.

In the meantime I would like to invite all of you to attend the opening of my show at Roby King Gallery on Bainbridge Island. The gallery has 12 of my originals on display through the month of June with the show opening on Friday, June 7th, from 6-8pm. Wine, cheese, good times had by all.

If you can not attend feel free to view the show on Roby King's website -
www.robykinggallery.com

I am very excited to share the new work with you and the new pieces that are just bursting forth from my brain.

Thanks so much for sticking with me!

Website Updates

"Inner Strength"

Hi Everyone!

I would like to take a second to thank each of you for another amazing year. 2012 was a year of tremendous growth for me artistically and I am so looking forward to you all seeing the new work that will be in 2013. It will be bigger, more complex, and hopefully just as entertaining as the old favorites.

First with the good news, I am happy to say I have updated my website a bit and you can now see the current workshop schedule and some of my upcoming shows there. www.twodogstudio.com
As I apply (and hopefully get juried in) to upcoming festivals I will add those as well.

On the less than cool side, due to the typical cost increases we all have seen of late, I am going to have to raise the cost of my cards to $4.00 each as of January. I know, bummer. I have maintained my $3.75 price for the past 5 years but now just can't continue so I will be changing that on my website in the next few days. Knowing my propensity for putting things off that gives you a good 4+ days to put in an order at the old price. Just trying to find the silver lining here!

So, thank you so much for all of your support, kindness, and words of encouragement. It really does keep me going and moving forward to know that there are so many of you out there that appreciate what I do and find it worthwhile. I wish you all the best in the new year.

Gratefully,
Eileen
(and Scout, of course)

Best of the NW This Weekend

Just a reminder that The Best of the NW is this weekend. I hope you can make it down to Pier 91 to take in this amazing show. Lots of art and wine, and yes, Scout will be under my chair :)

Also, my work can now be found at The Art Study in Seattle. They will be carrying some of my Limited and Open Edition prints, both framed and unframed. This is a pretty cool little store in U-Village that carries a lot of unconventional art. Kind of my style; quirky, funky stuff. Worth a stop if you are in the area.

Hope to see you this weekend. This is almost my last show of the year before I go into "studio" mode!

Eileen :)

November Events

"Family Ties"  8x19"

Hi all!

Here is a new one that will be exhibited this month at the Howard Mandville Gallery's Small Works Show. www.howardmandville.com The show opens November 15th and the gala night is Saturday, November 17th from 5-8pm. I will be there along with a bunch of the other exhibiting artists so head on over to Kirkland to say hello and take in the show.

Also, speaking of shows, The Best of the NW is almost here and it will be my last show of the year in Seattle.

Will I have new work? Possibly. Will I be working on a new piece during the show? Definitely.

I will be on the first floor in booth D9 just waiting for your arrival!

Lastly, I have entered "Foiled Again" into the Daniel Smith's Online Art Contest and can use your votes. I won the Weekly contest and am now in the Monthly rounds, if I win that I am in the final Annual Contest. Kind of complicated but essentially I just need you to visit their webpage and vote for me -- often if you like!

Thanks!

Midlife Crisis

"Midlife Crisis" colored pencil, watercolor  8x19"

Hi all,

Well, here is the completed piece that I have shared a few snippets of this month. I picked up the little wind up toy at an antique store in Upper Michigan this summer and just knew she would make it into a drawing somewhere. I got to use some primary colors for this one so it was great fun to create and I hope you enjoy it.

I am happy to say that the planned workshop in my studio next month is almost full with folks who have sent in registrations. I have 1 (maybe 2) spots still available and if you are interested please get a hold of me soon as I am putting the class project together this weekend. I have never had a class in my studio before so it should be fun and you are welcome to poke about the place and explore. You never know what you will find in this place!

Thanks so much!
Eileen
